Table of Exchange
Project Statement
This group installation began with a casual exchange and interaction over a meal within our Studio group. We investigated the concept of "exchange" and explored its reinterpretation. From it, we established the four stages of a conversation/ exchange and designed our installation around these parameters.

We called the first stage, the initiation, in which "mulled wine", a metaphor for conversation is poured down filters.

The filtration of the mulled wine is the second stage of the conversation, it represents the flow and filtration of information.

The third stage is called Embossing, various spice and orange peels have been removed at this stage and the remaining wine is channeled into the grooves of a press and embossed onto paper. This stage represents the record of the conversation.

The final stage is the removal and collection of the stained and embossed paper which forms the "memory" of the conversation.
